Cancun with a baby or toddler: resorts, babysitting and what to pack

Under kids-club age, the resort matters more than the destination. Here is what four Cancun-area family resorts publish for the youngest guests - babysitting, splash areas and baby clubs - plus gentle day trips and a packing list, from official sources checked 8-21 October 2026.

Quick pick: Hyatt Ziva for the youngest, Royalton Splash for water-loving toddlers

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is the only one of the four with a published babysitting policy, and its KidZ Club has a mini water park. Crown Paradise runs a supervised Baby Paradise Club. For under-4s, plan on a parent staying with the child almost everywhere.

Policies change and official pages are thin on baby details; email the resort before booking if a crib or babysitter is a dealbreaker.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun: the detail we know best

Hyatt Ziva Cancun sits at Punta Cancun with the sea on three sides, and its KidZ Club (ages 4-12, included) has its own mini water park, so older siblings are busy while you handle the baby. For evenings out, the resort's official FAQ says babysitting is paid and must be requested ahead - arrange it at check-in, not at 6 pm. Our full Hyatt Ziva Cancun with kids guide covers rooms, beaches and the teen lounge for ages 10-17.

Royalton Splash: built around the water

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun is the water park resort: slides on site, a supervised Clubhouse kids club for ages 4-12, and a paid Game Up hall (laser tag, bowling, trampolines) for older kids. The official site does not publish a babysitting policy, so with an under-4 plan to stay together or email the resort before booking. Note the location: it is in Riviera Cancun near Puerto Morelos, south of the Cancun hotel zone and closer to the big Riviera Maya parks.

Crown Paradise: the one with a baby club

Crown Paradise Club Cancun is the only resort of the four whose official site lists a dedicated baby facility: the Baby Paradise Club, a supervised space for the little ones with sensory activities and games. The page does not state ages or hours, so confirm both by email before you count on it. For older kids there is a pirate ship and castle water park with 9 slides (up to age 12) with family hours of 10:00-15:00 and 16:00-18:00.

Seadust: the budget-friendly water park

Seadust Cancun All Inclusive Family Resort runs a Treasure Island themed water park, a kids' pool and a Kids Club for ages 5-12 open 10:00-18:00, per its official experiences page. It is usually the value pick of the four. No babysitting policy is published on the official site, and the club starts at 5, so with a baby or young toddler you are on your own - which can still work well if grandparents are along.

Babysitting in Cancun: what resorts say

Across the four resorts' official pages, only Hyatt Ziva Cancun publishes a babysitting policy (paid, prior request, per its FAQ checked 8 October 2026). Crown Paradise advertises its supervised Baby Paradise Club without ages or hours (checked 21 October 2026). Royalton Splash and Seadust do not publish babysitting information at all. If a reliable babysitter is essential to your trip, treat the email reply from the resort as part of the booking decision - ask for ages, hours, price and whether sitters are hotel staff.

Gentle day trips with little ones

Isla Mujeres from the air. Our photo.

Isla Mujeres is the easy win: a short ferry from Cancun, golf carts instead of cars, and Playa Norte's shallow calm water that suits babies and toddlers. Our Isla Mujeres from Cancun with kids guide has the ferry logistics. If you prefer an organized boat day, compare the Isla Mujeres catamaran on GetYourGuide with the catamaran and snorkel tour on Viator - with a baby, morning departures beat afternoon ones.

What to pack for a baby in Cancun

Reef-safe sunscreen, a UV swimsuit and sun hat, a lightweight stroller that handles sand paths, swim diapers, and a baby carrier for the ferry and ruins paths where strollers struggle. Our family packing list has the full checklist we use ourselves.

Entry rules and the tourist fee

Mexico's entry rules and Quintana Roo's tourist tax change from time to time; we keep the current details, with official links, in the entry module on our Mexico with kids hub. Check it the week before you fly.

Questions

Which Cancun resort is best with a baby?

Hyatt Ziva Cancun, on published policy: it is the only one of the four with an official babysitting option (paid, requested ahead), plus calm corners on its three-sided beach. Crown Paradise Club is the alternative if its Baby Paradise Club confirms ages and hours by email.

Do Cancun resorts provide cribs?

None of the four resorts' official pages we checked states a crib policy clearly. Most family resorts in Cancun provide cribs on request, but treat it as unconfirmed: email the resort before booking and reconfirm a week before arrival.

Is Cancun good with a toddler?

Yes, with the right base. Pick a resort with a splash area or shallow pool, plan one gentle day trip like Isla Mujeres, and keep afternoons for naps. Toddlers are under kids-club age almost everywhere, so the room layout and pool matter more than the club.

When is the best time to visit Cancun with a baby?

Winter and spring bring milder heat that is easier on babies than the humid summer. Hurricane season officially runs June to November; whatever the month, book refundable rates and check the forecast in the final week.
