Hyatt Ziva Cancun is an all-inclusive hotel at the very tip of Cancun's hotel zone, with water on three sides. Kids aged 4 to 12 get a free kids club, and the resort has three infinity pools and two beach areas. It works well for families who want meals, pools and activities in one place. Before you book, check which room fits your whole family, what the sea is like on your dates, and what is not included.

Who it suits

Families who want to stay on site: meals, drinks, a kids club, pool activities and non-motorized water sports are all part of the package, according to Hyatt. It is less suited to families who want a quiet, small hotel, since reviewers describe a large, busy resort.

Rooms for a family of five

Most standard rooms list a maximum of four guests. For five, look at the Resort View Master rooms or the Oceanfront Pyramid Suite; for six, the two-bedroom suite. Ask Hyatt to confirm that the sofa bed counts toward the maximum for your exact room and dates. The swim-up rooms have a minimum guest age of 13 according to Hyatt, so they are not for young children.

Kids club and teens

Hyatt lists the KidZ Club for ages 4 to 12 and the teen lounge for ages 10 to 17. A 2019 review reported hours of 9am to 9pm and short family sessions for younger children; that is old, so confirm current hours and the under-4 policy with the resort before you rely on it.

Beach and sea

The resort has two beach areas. Reviewers describe one side as calmer for swimming and the other as wavier, and a 2019 review notes that kayaks and snorkel gear can be paused when the sea is rough. Conditions change by day and season, so ask the resort about flags and seaweed for your dates. The photos here show the sea view and a pier, not a guarantee of calm water.

What costs extra

Airport transfers, taxis and double-deck cabanas are not included. Babysitting is paid and must be requested ahead. A doctor is on site from 8am to 8pm at extra cost. Tips are included according to Hyatt.
